      Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 semanas. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin).

      HubSpot is an organisation with very funny recruitment policies. I saw 2 excellent roles: Presales and Solution Architect which I believe I fit well with respect to the job listing. After a week of applying I got a call from the recruitment for the presales’ role. A date was fixed however the recruiter did not call. After sending a reminder message, the recruiter said she did not notice my appointment and fixed another date for a solution architect role. Fine, mistakes do happen. People are under pressure these days and the strain of the pandemic makes the situation worse. Fortunately, the recruiter did connect on the re-schedule date. I asked the recruiter why the mess on the roles however the response was that the recruiter handled both the roles hence the interview was a combined one. No problem, the interview when as normal with typical recruitment questions such as tell me about yourself and 2 behavioural questions such as if your colleague is in trouble, how will you help this person. It is here that things take a strange turn. When the interview completed, I asked for feedback. The recruiter said I had gone above time. I know I did not take more 2-3 minutes per question. The recruiter never tells you the time one is supposed to respond to these queries hence they make a quick decision that this candidate may not be the right one and this is the message they convey to the hiring manager. A few days later I got an email stating I have not been considered as that they are better candidates who suit the role. Again, there is trouble here. The JD does not mention requirements clearly hence candidates believe that they qualify for the role, apply and only to be rejected. Significant time is lost preparing for the interview. Likewise, for me, the 2 roles were combined into one and I was not even given a fighting chance. I believe HubSpot needs to bring a sales engineer into the call so that the proper vetting of candidates can be done. I was used to recruit Sales Engineers however every CV passed through a solution consultant to ensure we did not miss a good candidate who could make a difference and bring value. My advice to people applying at HubSpot, be prepared to work hard but never realise the fruits of that labour. HubSpot pride itself on being inclusive whereby people who are not from presales’ background can make a transition into a presales role which is brilliant but the reality it is just smoke and mirrors. There is a lot of confusion with HubSpot. Personally, I will never apply at HubSpot again.

      The process included a recruiter interview, followed by a technical assessment involving front-end development using HubSpot’s APIs and an AI model, as well as an ERD and a detailed README explaining the design and reasoning. After submitting the assessment, I had an interview to review the project, another interview with a director focused on situational questions, and a final presentation based on a customer scenario.

      Was approached via LinkedIn about this role. Subsequently spoke with the recruiter during a 1st round phone screen that lasted about thirty minutes. I was aware that this company had culture issues (from looking into them a few years ago and from a more recent review of Glassdoor posts), but figured there was little downside to taking the call and seeing where things lead. The first red flag presented to me was that the compensation range the recruiter shared on the call was less than what was listed in the job description initially shared with me. The second one was a promise to give me an answer by end of week. When I checked in the following week, the response I got indicated that the recruiter had yet to even touch base with the hiring manager.

      No human interaction during whole process, applied through LinkedIn, got an email (which I thought was spam) asking me to submit recorded video interview. Then got an email from recruiter who asked for salary expectations, no introduction no feedback or pros/cons etc., plain simple one liner 'what are your salary expectations'. Really annoying experience, not recommended at all.
