      Entrevista para Senior Program Associate

      Candidatura

Fui entrevistado pela Impact Justice (Oakland, CA) em dez. de 2022

      Entrevista

Submitted my resume and cover letter via email. Received an invitation for a virtual interview a week later. Completed virtual interview with two representatives. Asked to complete a written skills assessment over the holiday break which was not related in any way to the position (culture change, training, assessment, technical assistance to correctional agencies with the Prison Rape Elimination Act). Asked to develop a project plan for an inmate advisory council, outlining timelines, key tasks, potentials areas of concern, a networking strategy, and a sample email. Position was not stated to be a project management/manager position. I completed the task assignment and submitted it on the due date and was told I would be notified about a decision within the week. I contacted them two weeks later for a status up date and was told that they were still interviewing candidates. Two days later I was informed they were not moving forward with my candidacy. When I inquired for feedback on the task assessment I was not provided a response. I feel that I provided a solution to a potential project problem without any credit as evidenced by their lack of feedback. Lesson: never do hours of work for a task assignment and the potential employer provide ZERO feedback. You may be providing them free labor to do their work for them. Too much work for a job that pay $87k as a senior level associate tops per year.

      Perguntas de entrevista [1]

      Pergunta 1

After the panel interview ( tell me about yourself, what skills do you bring etc.) complete a written task assessment submitted to a Program Coordinator and a Senior Program Specialist, whom would have been a peer, not who someone who a Senior Program Associate would be reporting to.

Thanks for taking the time to share this review of your interview experience at Impact Justice. It's clear reading this that our team didn't do a great job of setting up expectations around the virtual assignment. I'm really sorry about that. I wanted to let you know your feedback sparked an important conversation internally about our virtual interview assignments, both in terms of their appropriateness for the level, as well as making sure we communicate expectations clearly with candidates. I want to assure you that Impact Justice's policy is to never use candidate exercises as actual work products, but we apologize that this wasn't clearly communicated to you. Again, I'm sorry you had this experience, and I appreciate you sharing it. People Team
