I am very disappointed with my overall experience throughout this recruitment process. I interviewed for the role over a month ago and was advised that it might take a couple of weeks to receive an update. However, it has now been more than a month, and I have not received any communication, including a formal rejection.
Upon reviewing LinkedIn, I noticed that the position appears to have been filled by an internal candidate already working within Kaplan (the role was for Kaplan Professional, candidate came from Kaplan). This leads me to question the purpose of progressing external candidates through interviews if there was already a strong internal applicant under consideration.
The interview itself consisted primarily of competency-based questions (approximately 8–10), which is standard practice. While I acknowledge that I did not have direct experience for every competency discussed, I approached the interview openly and explained it to them.
That said, the lack of communication and transparency throughout the process has been disappointing. Based on this experience, I would hesitate to recommend applying, as the recruitment journey reflects the organisation’s approach to candidate experience and engagement with prospective employees.
