I applied and an HR Person had screened me told me I was going to interview with the Area Retail Manager by Skype, since it was a new store at the time. The Interviewer was running a little behind because she had another in-person interview before me, but she let me know asap.

The interview process was fine honestly everything was highly communicated and I have extensive background and knowledge and what they wanted in a candidate. The issue was when we FaceTimed we FaceTimed for about an hour but I had read her reviews and I have come to conclusion that this place is for people who look like they’ve come out of a sorority. I’m a brunette Hispanic looking female so obviously I was not what they were looking for. I even went through their Instagram and they hire no minorities whatsoever. Don’t waste your time. I was highly offended and then to make matters worse when I emailed a follow up I never got a response after she told me we’d set up a date to meet with the store manager, I decided to call and she told me that “oh we picked another candidate but thank you for your time” and I’ve looked online and come to find out they’re still hiring! It sucks that not everyone looks like a Barbie sorority girl but that shouldn’t matter isn’t Kendra Scott all about hiring beyond your resume? The store manager I interacted with gave a very horrible representation of what the company is supposed to stand for.

Have to be pretty and look like you come from a sorority to get hired. Networking events don't seem right for hiring..the same basic questions are asked to everyone no matter what position you are applying to. You don't have an opportunity to discuss your experiences and current/past job experiences with any of them. Recruiters/Management didn't seem very engaged in wanting to know about you, it seemed like you were judged from the moment you walk in on whether you "look the part" or not. I have a lot of retail management experience and wanted the opportunity to work for Kendra Scott as it is a new store but nobody cared to really interview and get to know us at the event. For me it was not professional and very laid back like I was applying for a basic minimum wage 1st job.
