1) assess their skill level, adjust language and approach accordingly 2) focus on value-add of the product - what pain/issue it can resolve 3) find out who is the decision maker and who is the implementer(s) in their organization 4) treat all with dignity and intelligence (you can laugh on the inside or later when you're alone) 5) follow-through on action items, give progress and keep them in the loop
