I was contacted by a Lead Bank recruiter and had an interview with them. The interview with the recruiter was pretty standard, and then shortly after I was scheduled to interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager asked me zero questions about my job history or experience, or even my skills, and only asked very pointed questions about how my current company operates (what kind of software do we use, was it designed internally or purchased externally, who is our partner bank, do we have lending products, etc). The questions they asked didn't really even pertain to my role or responsibilities, and it honestly felt like they were just fishing for industry info about my current employer. After that interview I received a personalized rejection email from the recruiter. I never even formally applied for the role and it was all very strange.
