I applied directly through LinkedIn and was contacted by someone in talent acquisition a couple of weeks later. who sent me an invitation for a teams call. He called me before the scheduled time, from what sounded like a busy cafe and suggested we did the preliminary interview there and then, because he said it was their Christmas party that day. I asked him what part of Lonza’s business the role would be responsible for and he refused to divulge this. It wasn’t clear why. The next week I had a panel interview on teams with the hiring manager and a couple of other managers, one of whom was based in the US. The interview questions included: “sell me this cube of sugar” and “when you walk into a meeting room with a U-shaped table, where do you sit?” Other questions were fairly standard for a management role. The interview concluded with the HM suggesting we meet in the new year. I’ve heard nothing since the interview, 6 weeks later.
