O processo levou 2 meses. Fui entrevistado pela Material (Nova Deli) em jul. de 2023

      Entrevista

For tech lead, they had 3 interviews, of which the interviewers asked about the experience on the tech stack and around delivery, but that's pretty much it. I appeared for all the rounds of the interview, recruiters told that the offer will be rolled out soon. Upon enquiring several times, it was revealed that the approval for hiring wasn't taken from the upper management and they would need to do it before rolling out the offer. Post this, the recruiting department went on silent mode. Upon enquiring again, a new fact came to light that the positions got on hold. Several weeks later, the same team member from recruiting team reached about another opening and the same story repeated. TWICE!!! My question to Srijan Technologies/Material+ is just this - If you don't have the budget, don't give hopes to candidates. If you don't know that the approvals need to be taken before you actually post a job, then you shouldn't be in recruiting and probably do your due diligence on the process and probably contribute to the company's knowledge around that. Because after going through the interview process, clearing all the rounds and waiting for offer, as a candidate this is very disheartening to hear that the approval wasn't taken before and now the candidate's time has gone waste.

I usually don't write negative reviews, but my experience with Materialplus was so disappointing, misleading, and disrespectful that it's necessary to warn other professionals. Let me begin by saying: I was skeptical from the start. The company has overwhelmingly negative reviews across platforms, and I brought this up in my first conversation with the HR. She acknowledged the poor reputation and attributed it to a "rough patch" after the company was acquired two years ago. She claimed things were improving under the new leadership, with the CEO now back in India, and encouraged me to ignore the noise and focus on the "new and better" Materialplus. Based on that assurance, I decided to give them a chance. Big mistake. I was then subjected to a rigorous and time-consuming interview process—two full rounds packed with deep technical questions, real-world problem solving, and complex scenarios. I cleared all rounds successfully, and HR was consistently positive and supportive throughout, repeatedly saying things like, “You're a great fit,” and “We’re excited to move forward.” So you can imagine my frustration when, after all this effort and trust, they came back with an insulting offer: just a 12% hike over my current CTC. After all that time, energy, and technical grilling, this is what they think is fair? This kind of offer isn’t just low—it’s tone-deaf and disrespectful, especially considering: They knew my expectations from day one. I was extremely clear, and the HR never once indicated that this kind of offer would be on the table. They misled me into believing that the company culture had improved and that they were genuinely looking to hire top talent with fair compensation. The entire process seems designed to extract free labor in the form of technical evaluations, while ultimately lowballing candidates under the guise of interest and enthusiasm. And let's be honest—a 12% hike in today’s market isn't even keeping pace with inflation, let alone reflecting value or respect for a senior candidate who clears all technical assessments. To make it worse, there was no transparency, no accountability, and no ownership of this disappointing outcome. Just a cold, generic offer and a shrug when I declined. The whole thing was a waste of time, built on empty promises and fake positivity. If you're a serious professional looking for a respectful, growth-oriented workplace—look elsewhere. Materialplus is not worth your time or talent.
