      Entrevista

I applied for the Design Intern position through my school website last year. I was still a student at the time, and just wanted to be exposed to design in a company and wanted to know how a prestigious interior design fim operates. Shortly after sending in my resume, I received a phone call from someone at MPS asking if I wanted to come in for an interview. I accepted the offer, was on time, and was met by , two employees (the junior designer and the project manager/personal assistant to MPS). The energy was intense and not friendly, but they seemed very business. They asked me questions pertaining to but not limited to: what kind of style I liked, how my work ethic was, if I could work well under pressure, and if my hours were flexible. A day or two later I received a phone call saying that I got the job. I was estatic, but that was the beginning of the end. My perception of the people, office, work culture was this: No one had a defined role. No one ever talked unless someone called or unless they were bitching out MPS under their breaths. They were not friendly and as soon as the interview was over, it was as if I had disappeared, and they went right back to work. I'm not even sure they turned their heads when I left. All in all, I'm glad I had this experience b/c I now know that it NOT the kind of company I want to work for despite the level of prestige it may have.
