      Candidatura

Candidatei-me por meio de uma faculdade ou universidade. O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela McMaster-Carr em abr. de 2010

      Entrevista

I applied through my school's career service for the Graduate Management program. In a few days I received an email from a recruiter at McMC to set up a phone interview. The interviewer was also a particiapant in this program. She asked me some basic questions regarding my background, past work experience, and why am I interested in McMC. There was not much interaction in between the conversation. Following each answer I gave there were a few seconds of silence for which I believe she was taking notes. What I didn't get were some of the questions were asked, such as "how long did it take you to finish your undergraduate study, is it exactly 4 years or more than 4 years?" "When you finished your undergrad study, did you get any other offers along with the one listed on your resume?" etc. I mean, what is the point of asking these questions? Not only that I finished my undergrad study more than 7 years ago, I don't think that a company should judge one's ability based on how long it took them to finish college and how many offers they got when they graduate. First of all, not everyone has a rich family to support them all the way through college. It took me 4.5 years to finish my undergrad study because I had to work several part-time jobs to self-finance my education. Secondly, I finished my undergrad study during the biggest recession when almost nobody was hiring. I was one of the fortunate ones from my class who landed a job with a decent company in the same year. Those questions only poorly reflect the company's downright prejudice towards certain types of candidates, unlikely the traditional ivy leaguers they chase after. And of course, the interviewer never replied my follow-up email sent after the interview. After reading the company reviews by its current employees, it sort of explained everything. If you are going to apply for any position with this company, do some homework to make sure that it's the right company for you.

      Entrevista

Very Easy basic behavior stuff. Asked me to describe myself and how I am as a leader in different spaces. Told me I needed to be an individual who doesn’t look to be told what to do next but rather self initiates their next move individually in order to be successful at the company.
