I applied to Mercer in my hometown nearly 2 months ago. A few weeks following that application, I received an email from Marsh & McLennan asking to do a one-way video interview via HireVue. I completed that on a Thursday and received a call late-day the following Monday from a recruiter in their Louisville, KY office, telling me my video was well-received and that I should be hearing from them within a week.
It has now been almost 3 weeks and no such follow-up has been received. I have called twice and will continue to call until 4 weeks of silence, but this is unacceptable. For an organization that focuses on HR consulting, Mercer has not vetted--or simply disregards--the quality of their own recruiters. Recruiting is part of HR, and ghosting candidates projects an image of low regard and apathy towards new recruits.
Candidates deserve closure, especially those who have expressed serious personal interest in a position. I understand that the position may have been given to a better-qualified candidate, but some sort of feedback would have been appreciated after I expressed such interest. I am disappointed that Mercer would treat candidates with such inconsideration.

I was invited to the first round of interviews. It was a digital interview held on HireVue. It was just a list of common interview questions. They took about a month to get back to me after that.

The actual interview was enjoyable. It was two rounds virtually, back to back. Each round had 2 interviewers. It seemed to go well, the conversation and the people were overall a good experience. The company just never got back to me after that.

Four 30 min interviews with no case questions all over zoom. Mostly getting to know you and behavioral fit rather than technical questions. Interviewers were from across the east coast, not just the office I was being interview for.
