Never hard back from the HR Department.

I was also called to interview for the Office Manager position. I spoke with a woman that had wanted to schedule an interview with me ASAP and also with her boss Monday (it was a Friday, late morning at the time). When I was done speaking with her, she assured me that she’d call me to give me a time for Monday after confirming with whomever her manager was. She even asked me my salary requirements and told me that my figure was, “no problem at all”. I had never heard from her again. I made a follow up call to her thinking maybe she lost track of time and was busy, that happens and I completely understand. When I finally got her on the phone, she went on to tell me that she was instructed to put the hiring process on hold for a month or two. I thought to myself, ok...understandable, things happen. A phone call would’ve been nice but hey, what can you do?! Wouldn’t you know 3 days later a new ad was on multiple employment sites?! Why not just tell the truth? Maybe her superior was not interested in someone that had every qualification that they were supposedly looking for. Who knows?! I am an adult though and can definitely handle the truth and, as a manager myself, would expect nothing less from another. I guess I wasn’t the only one though. Maybe the company isn’t quite sure what they are looking for. Hope they find it soon!
