The interview process was a great experience for me, it’s a very thorough process which is a major benefit to the interviewee, it really gives the candidate a chance to get to know the company and your potential work environment really well. By the end of the process I had a really good idea of not only the role but also how I’d fit into the culture of Octopus Energy. There’s about five stages to the process and whilst it may sound daunting it’s a very doable and comfortable process. I had the help of the lovely, friendly and supportive Egle from Instant Impact ; she really helped to calm my nerves by informing me of what to expect at each stage of the interview process. The recruitment team and all those involved in the hiring process are all very friendly and supportive. In terms of the actual interview stages, expect to have an initial phone call from a member of Instant Impact, followed by a one on one video interview and a psychometric test. If you’re successful at each of these stages, you’ll be invited to what is called a discovery day. On this day you get to know more about the company as well as the company assessing you in two group tasks and a one on one interview. If all goes well on discovery day, you’ll be invited for a final call. All in all I really enjoyed this process of interviewing, it’s different to the usual interviews that most of us are accustomed to. I think that’s a good thing as it’s great practice for interviews. It’s also very reflective of the company’s uniqueness.
