      I was really excited to apply to work for PagerDuty and the interview process could not have been more of a letdown. First, the scheduling link I was originally sent for the phone screening had no available slots to reserve and when I did finally get one set up, the person doing the screening turned up completely unprepared without the job listing or my resume. As someone who actually puts time into my interview prep it was really demoralizing that the company itself doesn't seem interested in determining whether the job was a good fit. Ultimately, I was told that I talk too quickly to be intelligible and rushed off the phone without even the opportunity to ask questions. I was told to follow up for a second round but never got a response to my follow-up email, and then two weeks later I got another, identical request for a phone screen, as if the first had never happened. I replied to the email and got no response. On the whole I wish I hadn't spent time applying or preparing for the phone screen - there are hundreds of companies out there who treat candidates with a lot more respect even if it's not a good fit.

      Entrevista

      I had a great experience interviewing with PagerDuty. The interview process is a bit lengthy, but I never felt like my time was being wasted. Everyone I met with was friendly, passionate, and really tried to get to know me. Questions were thoughtful and had purpose - no tricks or curveballs here. There were 5 steps to the interview process. First with a recruiter, next with the hiring manager, followed by 3 individual interviews with team members. PagerDuty opts for 1:1 interviews as opposed to panel interviews, which can drag out the process but is much preferred imo. I felt like I was able to form a more personal relationship with each person I met with this format.

      I met with multiple people across the company starting with HR, then with the hiring manager and then peers. They gave you the opportunity to meet with ERGs which I did reach out to but did not receive a response back from.
