After multiple phone calls, three intense interviews, endless amounts of emails between myself and the company I was due to hear my fate on Friday the 31st of January. I was not contacted that day, or over the weekend, or even on the following Monday. I contacted them Monday night and received an email saying I’d find out Wednesday. Wednesday came, same thing happened again, was told I’d hear on the Monday after. In the mean time I was completely fed up and had applied to another job. Monday came, and I had actually received an offer from the other company, offering me a position. I did not accept straight away as I still had hope for Paragon. The Dublin MD called me and offered me the position, which I was happy about. However, I had asked at least 3 times, over the phone, in the interviews, etc, what my base salary would be. The questions was either avoided or I was told about the amazing commission I’d earn, but they still would not tell me what the salary would be. When I told the MD I obviously had to think about it and again, asked what the base salary would be, my question was shut down and I was told they would have to “punch some numbers”. I assumed this would be known before I was offered the job??? Anyway, I was getting annoyed at this stage and blurted out that I had another offer. The conversation quickly ended with me being told I would get an email outlining the salary expectations. On the Wednesday I received a phone call from the MD, informing me that “due to unforeseen circumstances”, “their current sales”, “the slow month they had just had”, they were retracting the offer. I have never ever been in such an unprofessional situation in all my life. They wasted two months of my time, which I could have spent looking for jobs elsewhere. Luckily I accepted the other offer and it has all worked out, but I am furious, embarrassed and completely shocked by how they handled the whole situation. The MD and CEO were so condescending and I honestly believe that they just did not like a woman standing up to them. I dodged a bullet which I am now glad for and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Applied online, Met with the then manager and she was brilliant and credible Met with the other directors and very positive Offer came through very quickly - I was low balled so had to negotiate After I accepted better offer I was introduced to the team and the work space...It was really shabby, I met the owner who was all over the place - I should have backed out then but didnt as i had given in my notice.
