My LDP experience is with Home Depot and my responsibilities are identifying candidates for leadership programs and presenting them to the current Leadership Team, “interviewing” candidates to see what their long term goals are and identifying how those goals may satisfy the goals of the business unit, evaluating the candidates current leadership style, I work with the candidate to develop a gradual plan of increased responsibilities and continuing education classes that is both employee and business unit oriented, candidate goes through six sigma training and completes required project within our business unit, and once that’s complete, we revisit the candidate goals and how they are in line with business unit goals and then we begin succession planning. If nothing is available in the immediate business unit, I partner with other HR professionals and executives to identify a potential fit somewhere else so that we can place the candidate.
