Important to emphasise a passion for WordPress itself. As I'm a WP plugin developer this wasn't so difficult, but there's lots of areas in WordPress you could emphasise - the community itself, the huge ecosystem, the power and the flexibility. And it's important to know where WordPress overall is headed (think headless!).
