I submitted an application online after seeing a sign posted in front of the restaurant that they were hiring. I received a phone call for an interview within a few days. The first interview went really well; there were a lot of questions, but it was a very smooth and painless process. The man that interviewed me told me that they'd schedule a second interview with me within a couple of days. Later that day, they called to schedule my second interview, and it did not go particularly well at all. It could have been that I was more nervous, but for one, the manager made me wait about 10-15 minutes before coming out of the back, because he "wasn't supposed to be in," and they "should have checked [his] schedule first." Waiting did not bother me; I thought it might have been to intentionally test my patience. The typical "tell me about yourself" question is what really tripped me up, I think. I had a much harder time selling myself to the man that was higher up than to the person whom first interviewed me. (Sorry, I can't remember titles at all, otherwise I'd be more specific.) Another question that probably messed me up was when he asked why I would like to work for Cane's. Easy enough question, but I can't help but think that I butchered it. Afterwards, he told me they were in the process of interviewing a lot of other people, and they'd give me a call or shoot me an e-mail soon regardless to whether or not I would be a good candidate. Two to three days later, I received an e-mail saying that I didn't get the job. No hard feelings, and I still eat there! Haha!
