I've been interviewing with several companies during the pandemic; Robinhood's structure and approach on their interviewing process is world class. Savannah Smart was a 5 star recruiter from the first email exchange we had with her transparency, thorough knowledge of the role and department, as well as growth in the company overall. She never left me in the dark throughout any stage of the process. I always received an update from her even if it was a "We're still figuring out schedules!" which I really appreciated during such an anxious time full of anticipation. I absolutely loved the panel process where I got to walk through my portfolio with 3 members of the team. Most cases, I would have to book out an entire day, sometimes even two, to individually meet with each person from the team and repeat my whole presentation over and over again, which becomes grueling, but here, it allowed me to give it my best at the first go and that means I knew I was being evaluated not just by the team, but AS a team. I also appreciated the cross-functional department interview. This is a stage often overlooked and something I always ask about/for when I'm exploring opportunities in roles and companies that require such cross-functional rapport and collaboration. The offer and negotiation phase were excellent. Savannah gave me a sufficient amount of time to process and was more than willing to hop on a phone call with me, so I knew she is a very experienced recruiter. She was also very tactful in the language she used to discuss the negotiation process and I'm impressed that she proactively mentioned that it is in fact part of the process (e.g. "Take the day to think about what the most appealing offer to accept would look like for you and I will be your advocate"), especially when only 45% of people negotiate a job offer. I swear this glowing review is not just coming from my high of receiving an offer. If I were to look back on every company and person I interviewed with in the past 6 months, Robinhood would undoubtedly and objectively stand out to me.
