having actually worked there, they are seeing if you're quick to come up with something intelligent, it doesn't have to be correct. I'm certain they did not ask this question at all, and simply asked you to come up with a query of any sort. So long as your thought process makes sense- that is all they are looking for. They probably asked you to run a query about 2 people, a male and female, with distinct things about them. They just want to see the thought process.
