Renamed from Guinness Union of Bradford &Bingley the UDV union was founded in 1965 as a staff committee at the Guinness brewery in Park Royal, London. It gained a certificate of Independence in 1979 when 136 members renamed it to the Guinness UDV Staff Association in 1998. Affiliated with the Trades Union Congress, in 2003 adopted its final name which 531 members had fallen below 400 and now was the smallest union affiliated to the TUC.
