I applied online about a month ago and didn't hear anything back for awhile so I thought nothing of it. Then, a couple weeks ago I receive a call from target asking if I was able to do a phone interview with them . It was a pretty normal phone interview, lasting only 10mins. The rep didn't really ask any behavioral questions or anything like that. I was explaining to him I had previously worked at target before hand but threw a temp agency so I knew all of the warehouse duties like the back of my hand. Afterwards he seemed impressed and said he wanted to do a face-to-face interview. I was overly confident coming into to this and that's where I messed up. The interview it self isn't hard you just need to answer using the STAR method. I was being interviewed by two people. It was the senior human resource manager and the operations manager. I personally didn't prepare myself at all for it and as a result, didn't get hired. At the end of the interview they asked me if I had any questions for them and I drew a blank and said no. That was mistake #2. My advice is to anyone trying to get hired is practise or have prepared answers for them (even if it's made up), and at the end when they ask if you have any questions for them say something like "What does target have to offer me?" Or "Why did you guys choose Target?" That'll make you look good and win them over.
