Opened the store with a line waiting outside. Co-worker called and said she'd be late, then another left a message he was sick. I apologized to the customers that I was short handed but I would try to assist each of them as quickly as possible and if they were in a hurry to leave me they name or account number and a number they could be reached at and I would definitely call them before I left for the day.

it is very flexible idea, so every customer wouldn't get irate and expecting a follow up solution for their concern.
