The team was going to release production APIs hosted in Azure without testing hybrid connections to back end databases hosted on a data centre. I identified and raised the risk that we needed to performance and load test the connections as part of a proper staging release. I raised the risk to infrastructure and put a plan in place to add additional resource and time to the release plan The aim was to assess and reduce the risk and come up with an alternative should the risk materialise as having an affect on performance degradation.
