I applied to L&T online through a job posting site. Within a few days, they reached out to me to schedule a phone screen. I discussed my experience with the Director of Talent, learned more about L&T, and asked questions about the specific role.
After that phone screen, they asked that I complete a trial assignment. They sent me materials and suggestions, but I was tasked with doing research and building out a blog post for a sample client. The trial assignment was a nice way to see what I'd be doing on a regular basis.
Once I sent that in and they reviewed it, they invited me into the office for one-on-one meetings and a live editing assignment. The meetings were all conversational and really nice. It was a good way to home in on the company's vibe, to learn more about the people I'd be working with, and to ask questions of people with different responsibilities.
The Director of Talent is wonderful and made the entire process really easy. I always knew what was expected of me and where I fit into the larger hiring process. When I got an offer and had questions about it, he was responsive, courteous, and helpful. Definitely one of the best interviewing experiences I've had.

How would your previous experience outside of the field apply to the work L&T does?

First I had a phone interview, which went well. The L&T employee was friendly and easy to talk to. Then he asked me to do a writing test; I completed it and sent it back before the due date. I never received a response from anyone at L&T. Incredibly rude to ask candidates to write a 500-word blog post when you can't even write an email back.

They asked basic stuff about work experience and the type of work environment I prefer.

Very, very disorganized company. Was reached out by the Operations Manager, who administered 3 edit/writing tests before the interview process. I was given three days to send the tests on Google Docs and within about 2 days, one of the editors just went ahead and checked my drafts and started approving/rejecting my unfinished work—without my permission or submission. Impulsive on their part and I wish I was personally reached out to and given some insight/perspective on what they do and what they want beforehand. It was rather an impersonal and cold experience overall.
