Collecting myself I asked permission to use the whiteboard, I then used the whiteboard to step through the problem and come up with answers and solutions. Using the whiteboard ended up being the key to landing the job, they felt that even though I didn't know the answers, the ability to get to the right conclusion by working through it and being able to see how I would attack problems beyond my scope - gave them the confidence to move ahead with an offer of employment.
