Situation: Another co-worker and myself were the only two servers on one night at a restaurant. The other worker was upset because her section of the restaurant had no people sitting in it, while my section was completely packed. Task: We needed to level out the service level so she could still make some money, and I wouldn't be overwhelmed. Action: I ended up giving her my next two tables so I could focus on giving my current tables great service, and she could focus on a couple tables and still make some money. Result: We were able to level out the service we were providing and act like a team in order to make the night run smoothly.
