Was pitched via LinkedIn by their recruiter for a temporary freelance contract for one of their clients. Recruiter set up multiple calls with me and spoke with another higher ranking recruiter for the opportunity. This company lead me on to believe that I had the role. Instead they contacted me almost a week later with a blanketed, "we decided to move forward with another writer." First of all, you all contacted me. I didn't reach out to you. Secondly, don't lead people on to believe they have a good chance at a role only for your recruiters to breadcrumb and lie to people about the opportunity. Thirdly, when I asked from specific feedback from the recruiter about why I was no chosen for the role when I was led to believe otherwise, they completely ghosted me. Most of all, companies that do these things are the reason why people such as myself and other job seekers are hesitant to work with external recruiter or consulting companies is because of the lying and manipulation tactics that these company project onto candidates actively looking for work. Do better as an IT consulting firm or you're going to get a negative reputation in the cybersecurity industry for being liars to candidates actively looking in the industry.
