      Entrevista

      I recently interviewed for the Talent Coach role at Toptal and wanted to share my experience, which was not up to my expectations. Here are some key points: Lack of notification for recording: The interview was conducted via Zoom, and the recruiter started recording immediately without prior notification or explanation of its purpose. I did not receive any GDPR consent form, which was concerning. Inability to answer basic questions: The recruiter was unable to answer some fundamental questions I posed. For instance, I inquired about the expected time zone coverage, as I am based in Europe. The recruiter provided a very generic answer without any specific details. Given my 10 years of HR experience, including 4 years in recruitment, I found this to be a reasonable question that should have been addressed adequately. Lack of contract details: When I asked about the type of contracts used for this role, the recruiter mentioned it would be an "international contract" as part of the core team. With my background in handling mobility cases and international assignments, I found this response unclear and lacking in detail, actually never heard about that type of assignment and the recruiter was unable to clarify it further. More information should have been provided to ensure clarity and transparency. Unrealistic coaching hours expectation: The recruiter mentioned that 30 coaching hours per week are expected in this 40-hour job. Based on industry benchmarks, full-time coaches typically provide 20-22 hours of coaching per week to allow for recovery, learning, and professional development. The expectation of 30 hours seems excessive and may lead to burnout. Overall Interview experience: Overall, the interview was not a positive experience, and it left me with reservations about accepting the role if it were offered. The professionalism and preparedness of the recruitment process did not meet my expectations for a company of Toptal's stature. Additionally, I have spoken to friends who also had negative experiences with Toptal, which further solidified my concerns. In summary, my interview experience with Toptal was disappointing, and I would be hesitant to accept a role with them if offered. I hope this feedback helps improve their interview process for future candidates.
