When I first applied the role description was very broad and I matched from a skills and qualification perspective completely. The feedback was that I was rejected for not having enough related experience, despite the interviewer saying they felt my experience would fit into a particular vertical. First round was with Hr who were actually very refreshing and asking me about the role that I was looking for and trying to match me with one of the departments they are hiring for. There was a bit of confusion because some of the roles had the same job description despite being at different levels. The second round was with someone in the business. It was an interesting conversation and they were very open about wayflyer and they seemed to be interested in me as a candidate. A lot of the conversation was on my background and motivation for applying. During the interview rhey confirmed that they deliberately had a broad job spec and interviewed everyone who applied with the intention of funneling down when I asked for more definition on the role. Overall, I feel they could have spent some more time defining the role spec and you'd have a more efficient and respectful hiring experience on both sides.
