The main departments are haematology, microbiology (bacteriology and virology), biochemistry, histopathology, and blood transfusion science. However there are other departments such as Point of Care (POC) and Anticoagulation Dosing Advisory Service (ADAS). Each has a unique focus — for example, microbiology identifies infectious agents, while biochemistry analyses enzymes and metabolites to assess organ function.
