If you worked for harris teeter before applying to food lion you have better chance of getting on with FL as an assistant MGR. I am a Grocery mgr for FL and have tried to get promoted for over 10 years now. stopped trying after the 8th person I had to teach that was brought in from competitor. its amazing on how some one has to train his own boss yet they feel that person is not qualified to be the assistant

That is pretty standard at FL long time employees breaking in new management then they treat you like you never assited them.( happily I might add) they end up treating you with NO respect. Yes I know my job throughly as my annual appraisal was always "meets requirements" With Highly Positive Comments on my performance
