I was asked questions that were not relevant to the job I had applied for and I did my best to answer them in a positive way. I should have focused my answers on things that were more relevant to the job at hand. This interviewer, the HR Director, thought it was more important to have 24 years of experience doing the same thing rather than 8 years of experience in 3 different complementary areas. What he failed to realize was that the job title of the open position did not adequately characterize the job responsibilities, for a position I was ideally qualified for. No further interviews were granted.
