if the problem is position/team/dept relevant there are a variety of options such as: senior engineering support, vendor support, or re-working the situation all together by dismantling and re-assembling your platform whatever it may be (provide examples) if the problemn lies in communication with another dept or their support is unacceptable then your manager/director/vp may need involvement in the matter or - some problems are not fixable because they do not exist such as individuals blowing their horn before realizing the problem is no what it seemed - in this case waiting is effective when dealing with such types
