Sustainable development revolves around the idea that with growing population and demand for infrastructure, development is inevitable. Development with regard to the environment and population is possible and very beneficial beyond just meeting Federal and State regulations. Some benefits include protection of water sources and agriculture, recreation opportunities, a good relationship with stakeholders and the community, aesthetics, longevity of infrastructure and resilience to natural extremities, etc. Our job as an environmental consultants is to balance the clients wants and budgets and practical solutions to sustainability.
