Customer service is more important because good customer service will keeps away those who want to steal. It will show the potential thefts that you could pop up anywhere, they would want to be somewhere where no one is paying attention.

How I would answer that one is like this: As a sales associate, my primary job is to focus on good customer service. If I were to suspect any theft going on, I would promptly report it to the resident security officer. It is his/her job to worry about any theft issues.
