What is the difference between Job Evaluation and Performance Appraisal

The job evaluation analysis the job will not take into account the individual abilities. It just evaluates the skill needed to perform the job. However the purpose of performance appraisal is to take the decisions regarding the pay, transfer, promotion etc. while the purpose of job evaluation is to determine the worth of the job.
