To be honest, this is probably why I didn't get the job. I stated my minimum, which was below market slightly for this position at 50k. But my range in three years was probably too high (70k-80k), this is because however I have a Masters degree in this field from a decent university and if I have 3 years of strong experience, I should be able to earn that at a different firm doing the same kind of work at a senior level. (at least people from my university/education level in that position tend to earn that range given that much experience) I have heard from several sources that the pay is below market and that (this even came up in the interview as a problem they have), people leave after a few years to go else where. Probably because the pay is better and they have gotten their experience already so they go where they are paid more according to there new skills.
