I think my greatest strength is finding new avenues of growth opportunities while maintaining all my current duties. For instance, when our magazine was transitioning into going digital and introducing more human- interest stories, we were asked to come up with audiovisual content for a human-interest story that could collaborate with the brands for women’s day. After much brainstorming, my idea was chosen, we decided to do a video series of stories titled under ‘what makes you beautiful’ where we wanted to show different ideas of beauty than the conventional ones. Before I plunged into this project, I made a google doc where editorial duties were delegated to two of my team members, they updated me on the progress and I also set out an hour for that week just to tend to editing, last minute changes and checking in with the designers. This system of checking in with the google doc knew where I was at with the layouts- plus it gave me ample time to focus on the video content as well. This particular video was an instant success and had over 20,000 views in a span of a week- that won us more brand commitments from upcoming brands that wanted to collaborate with us in the next issue.
