Using the animatics, scripts and brief notes I start with layout by setting up cameras, composition and rough stage direction. Then first pass blocking, ensuring I start with key poses then breakdowns and overshoots with rough timings. Second pass blocking I check my arcs, spacing, add eases and build in any secondary animation. Lastly spline stage, which is usually polishing timing and final lip sync. While addressing any director notes I receive during production.
