I spoke about an experience while I was working as an IT intern for an aerospace engineering outsourcing firm. During a data center migration project, after we brought the entire corporate network back up I was overconfident in my newly acquired networking skills and made the mistake of issuing the wrong command on one of our core switches which shut down VLAN that all of production servers used, thus causing a companywide outage! I thought I was going to be fired on the spot however my manager was able to calm me down, reverse the change, and bring the systems back up. I learned very early on in my career to make sure you're 100% sure you know exactly what you're doing before taking part in any action that could have adverse effect on the business and not being afraid to ask for help.
