I was told that only 2 would be invited back to second interview. They sent 4 candidates in the field to gather competitive info from collegiate faculty "confidentially". During finals, the process took two days where I took off of work, and was not reimbursed for parking or mileage. The faculty I interviewed knew I was with Elsevier. They were more than ticked at Elsevier and let me have it. I was told that I was being taken advantage of and that the hiring manager has done this for 20+ years. They were right. They really really wanted my power point after I presented it and it was required for the third interview. It must have been good. I sent it and I never heard from them after that... It was a "win-win" for the company.
