Where do you see yourself, five years from now?
Sigiloso
This is a standard interview question asked in many interviews. Its purpose is to check if the candidate is interested enough to do a bit of research about the role. It also helps the interviewer to understand if the candidate is aware of the prospects the role brings and is satisfied with it. As this role is relatively new, by the time I was interviewed, I couldn't find much about it elsewhere. So, I took this question as an opportunity to find about it, explained the research I've done about it and why I couldn't find an answer, and told them that I was hoping they could shed some light on it. It is okay to not know the answers even to some basic questions, provided that we truly have put the efforts in finding it. They patiently explained how the role offers a candidate, a well-suited fast-paced growth in the organization. And how one may progress in their careers, either as an individual contributor or as a leader, basing on one's choice and skills.
