This is one of those "basic interview questions" I don't really like, but I was honest with them. I said that I recently changed my career path, and I'm looking for something I can sink my teeth into that will be challenging, but the hard work I put in will allow for advancement in the future. Five years from now, I'd like to have five years of experience at this company, ideally managing my own team and having some control over my own system and internal processes.
