I was at first briefed by the HR on the phone and i was supposed to have three rounds of interview (introduction and exercise, technical interview, and terms negotiations ). The introduction went well and i was given an exercise with clear instructions and was given no deadline to complete it. I completed the task and sent it to them but i was not invited to technical interview because they thought that the report i constructed as the exercise was too detailed and they were expecting something more general. Needless to say i find the judgment strange, because i think it's the technical skills that should be judged for this position. anyhow the HR was very proactive in the process and i appreciate it.
