Applied via Zalando Careers website just by sending CV and Cover Letter. I was then contacted by HR to arrange a Google Hangout with the Buyer. They were very flexible with time availability! The Google Hangout lasted for about 30 mins and started with the Buyer introducing herself and then talking about the position, the department and why the job became vacant. After that, i then spoke through my CV discussing my experience and skills. I was asked questions like "Why do you want to work for Zalando" and "Where do you see yourself in 2-5 years". I'd say it flowed quite nicely and it didn't feel like she was trying to trip me up about anything! I had questions prepared, so once they were answered she told me that it usually takes around 2 weeks to hear back from them. They contacted me 1.5 weeks later and said that they wanted to invite me to Berlin for the second interview (just in case you were wondering - they reimburse travel costs such as taxis, flights and train tickets that get you to the interview. This doesn't include accommodation as i am from the UK and could fly to Berlin and come back to London on the same day). Second Interview - This was with the same Buyer that i had the Google Hangout with and HR. The interview lasts up to 1.5 hours which sounds long but didn't feel like it at all! They started off introducing themselves, what they studied, their job positions, where they were from etc. That was a nice start as it broke the ice i guess. It was then my turn to introduce myself and give them a little background story. I then went into my job history, who i have worked for, what i did there, the skills i obtained whilst i worked there and why i left. They had some competency based questions such as "How would you organise yourself at work", "how would you deal with a challenging situation" etc. I made sure i prepared myself for these as sometimes its hard to think on the spot when you're a bit nervous. I then asked them a few questions and then showed them a presentation i had put together. They didn't ask me to do one but i wanted them to know that i knew about different brands, competitors and trends. HR gave me a call to offer me the job within a week.
