      Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 8 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela eBay (Bern, Bern) em fev. de 2019

      Entrevista

      I first sent my resume at the beginning of Jan.. and received a first feedback from a Bern-based manager a week later, which was followed by a 30 min phone call later that week with him/her (questions asked were mainly related to my motivation to work for eBay, past professional experiences). After that, I had a phone call with HR and was selected for an in-person interview in Bern (end of Jan.), where I met with the Bern-based manager and one of the treasury team members. The interview lasted approx. 1hr, during which I was asked mainly skills-, motivational-, behaviorial-related questions. After having successfully passed that step, I was invited for the second-to-last interview phase over a Skype-like platform, where I was interviewed by the Bern-based manager, and two other treasury team members. Questions were very similar to the ones asked in the previous steps. Finally, I was invited for the final, in-person interview, which was held in Bern (end of Feb.) and was with both the Bern-based manager and a more senior San Jose-based manager. After having asked me a number of personal-/professional-related questions (i.e. past experiences, what I do in my free time, Excel modelling skills, how I deal with stressful situations etc.), 15 minutes into the interview the US manager abruptly interrupts me, stating, and I quote, “I understand you may be nervous, which is normal, but let me give you some advice: when you come to an interview, especially with such a high-senior profile, you should arrive more prepared”. This person then tells the Bern-based manager he/she has no further questions, says goodbye and simply leaves the room. The Bern-based manager, who was very personable throughout all the previous interviews, was caught off guard by this type of behaviour as well. Never have I experienced, in any past interviews with other companies, such an unprofessional and improper way of handling a selection process. I wasn’t even given the decency of completing the entire interview, which was originally intended to last 60 minutes. I do understand interview outcomes don’t always go as one wishes (it’s not a perfect world!), but I absolutely do not accept the fact of not even being given the respect anyone should deserve for at least taking their time to apply to a specific company, and trying their best at an interview. If senior, pompous managers deal with prospective employees in such a manner, I can only imagine how they handle actual employees. I received the final feedback of the interview outcome at the beginning of March. The entire process, from start to finish, took "just" 8 weeks.
