Responded with what I had done in the past to set clear expectations and develop team members, but the CEO was more concerned about my word choice than the actual response, lots of discussion about my use of the word “I” instead of talking about “the team”. Given the way the question was phrased I felt that it was more appropriately answered by talking about my concrete actions as a leader in different situations.
