1:1 School Nurse – Pediatric Student Support

Location: Naugatuck, CT (School Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:10 PM)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Spanish-speaking Registered Nurse (RN) to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a student with complex medical needs. The ideal candidate will be professional, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality care while effectively communicating with Spanish-speaking students and families. This position is available for an immediate start!

The nurse will accompany the student door-to-door and provide care throughout the entire school day.

Student Care Needs Include:

• Management of chronic Interstitial Lung Disease
• Oxygen (O₂) support with titration based on oxygen saturation levels
• Use of specialized respiratory equipment (similar to CPAP)
• G-tube feedings (schedule and volume to be determined per provider orders)
• Mobility support (student is ambulatory but uses a wheelchair when fatigued)
• Communication support (student uses assistive technology to express needs)

Responsibilities:

• Perform ongoing respiratory assessments and adjust oxygen levels per physician orders
• Safely manage and monitor G-tube feedings
• Provide continuous monitoring and clinical support throughout the school day
• Assist with mobility and ensure student safety
• Collaborate with school staff, family, and healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and interventions

Qualifications:

• Active CT RN license
• Pediatric and/or school nursing experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory care, oxygen therapy, and G-tubes highly desirable
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a 1:1 setting
