The Alpine Group has experienced the peaks and valleys of various metals and wires businesses. The company's Exeon subsidiary specializes in the reclamation of metal and copper wires, and it produces copper chops. Other operations include subsidiary Posterloid (restaurant menuboard and signage systems) and majority-owned Synergy Cables (formerly Superior Cables, power and telecommunications cables). Alpine also holds a substantial stake in Wolverine Tube (small copper and alloy tubes). Company chairman and CEO Steven Elbaum controls nearly a quarter of the voting power in Alpine Group.
